Antonín Dvořák was a Czech composer whose music blended classical European traditions with the folk melodies of his homeland, Bohemia. He spent several years in the United States, where he was inspired by American folk songs and spirituals to write his famous New World Symphony. He is remembered as one of the greatest composers to bring national folk traditions into classical music.
