Beatrix Potter was an English author and illustrator who created The Tale of Peter Rabbit and many other beloved animal storybooks. She was also a skilled scientific illustrator and a passionate farmer who used money from her books to buy and protect large areas of English countryside. Much of that land was later given to the National Trust, preserving it for everyone to enjoy.
